24 Hours Away: Emerging Infectious Diseases and Our Global World

February 2, 2017
7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

It's not just science fiction. With a crowded marketplace in Kikwit, Zaire, site of the last Ebola flare-up, less than 24 hours away from a New York City subway, borders are meaningless to pathogenic microbes. Pam Pontones, MA, State Epidemiologist/Director, will enlighten us as to just how close we are to these risks and what we can do to keep ourselves safe. For more information, call the Reference Desk at (317) 844-3362.

This program will be held in the Program Room and is part of the "Investigate: Science and Technology at Your Library 2017" program series. Join us at the Carmel Clay Public Library as we investigate new and exciting advances in science and technology in 2017. In our first quarter we will explore space, play with robots, discuss new developments in medicine, and so much more!
